Therapist website templates come in four kinds: free platform templates, designer templates, the SimplePractice website, and monthly services that set one up. Many cost nothing beyond the platform's fee, and the paid ones we checked on October 29, 2026, ran from $28 to $597. Before you buy, check what you keep if you leave: on most of these platforms, the design stays behind.
How We Chose These Nine Options
This guide compares nine ways to start a therapy practice website from a template. They fall into four groups: free with a platform, sold by designers, inside SimplePractice, and set up for you for a monthly fee. Every price and term comes from the seller's or platform's own pages, checked on October 29, 2026.
We named template shops only where they say they sell to therapists, and we left out code templates that need a developer. We rank no one, and entries run alphabetically within each group. Our website builders guide compares the platforms themselves: hosting, booking, and plans.
These cost nothing beyond the platform you run them on. You write the pages, add your photos, and keep the facts current.
1. Squarespace's Therapist Templates
Squarespace offers its own templates for counseling, couples therapy, and specialized mental health services, inside its hosted builder.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- No template fee, since its pricing page includes designer templates on every plan. Plans start at $19 a month billed annually, per Squarespace's FAQ.
- Best for
- A practice that will write its own pages on Squarespace and wants no separate template fee.
- If you leave
- Squarespace's export to WordPress carries layout pages, one blog, and text and image blocks. Style settings and custom CSS stay behind, so the design does too.
- What you get
- A starting layout for a practice, which you fill with your own words, photos, and booking link.
- What you give up
- New sites run version 7.1, which can't switch templates. You restyle the site you have, or start a new one and copy your words and images across by hand.
2. Wix's Therapist Templates
Wix lists templates for therapists, counselors, and child therapy practices. Several include its booking app or its blog.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- Templates are free. A free plan exists, and paid plans start with Light at $17 a month, paid yearly, per Wix's pricing guide. Wix says prices vary by location.
- Best for
- A practice that wants to start free and expects to stay on Wix.
- What you get
- A practice layout to edit in Wix's editor. The free plan shows Wix ads and a Wix web address, per the same guide.
- What you give up
- Wix says an existing site can't switch to a different template. A new site can take over your plan and domain, but the old design and layout stay put.
3. WordPress Themes for Therapists
WordPress.org's theme directory is a library of free themes. A search for "therapist" returns themes for therapy, psychology, and counseling practices, among spa and coaching themes.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- Directory themes and the WordPress software cost nothing. Hosting, a domain, and any paid add-ons are priced by the sellers you choose.
- Best for
- A practice that wants its design and content to move between hosts, with a developer or the time for upkeep.
- If you leave
- The export tool writes posts and pages to a file another WordPress site can import. The same theme installs on any WordPress host.
- What you get
- A theme you install from your WordPress dashboard. Directory themes carry the same GPL freedoms as WordPress itself, so you can change them or move them.
- What you give up
- Setup, updates, backups, and security fall to you, your host, or a developer you pay. Some theme authors also sell support or upgrades.
Which Templates Do Designers Sell to Therapists?
These are one-time purchases from independent designers, paid in addition to the platform's own fee. Read each license and refund line before you pay.
4. One-Page Canva Templates
Independent sellers make therapist website templates in Canva, the online design tool. We checked two: Kromatic Design Studio, whose template builds a single page, and AI Life is Good.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- $28 or $29 for the template at those two sellers. Both start you on a free Canva account.
- Best for
- A newly licensed clinician who needs one page live on a free Canva account and expects to rebuild later.
- If you leave
- Neither seller's page says how a site moves off Canva, and Canva's own pages blocked our check. Plan on rebuilding if you outgrow it.
- What you get
- A page you edit and publish in Canva. AI Life is Good's page says free publishing uses a Canva web address, and your own domain needs Canva Pro.
- What you give up
- Every service shares one page, with no page of its own for each specialty. AI Life is Good says Canva Free adds a "Designed with Canva" footer, and both sellers treat sales as final.
5. Showit Templates From Therapist Designers
Showit's Design Market sells templates from independent designers. A search there for "therapy" returned several made for therapists, and we checked three.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- $349 to $597, one time, for the three we checked. A Showit plan is extra: $22 a month billed annually ($259 a year), or $27 billed monthly, per its pricing page.
- Best for
- A design-led solo practice that will pay for a designer's look and tend desktop and mobile layouts separately.
- If you leave
- Showit says its designs and templates are exclusive to Showit hosting. A WordPress blog exports as a file, and your domain can stay with any registrar.
- What you get
- A designed site, installed in your Showit account, with pages such as home, about, services, and contact. Each listing says you need an active Showit subscription, and one notes its blog needs a Showit blog plan.
- What you give up
- Each template is licensed to one Showit account, and each listing says all sales are final. You adjust desktop and mobile layouts separately.
6. Squarespace Templates From Therapist Designers
Template shops sell finished Squarespace sites made for therapy practices. We checked three that say so: Glo Design Studio, Go Bloom Creative, and Hold Space Creative.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- $349 to $399, one time, at those three shops. A Squarespace plan is extra, from $19 a month billed annually.
- Best for
- A practice that wants a finished design made for therapy and plans to stay on Squarespace.
- If you leave
- Squarespace's export leaves style settings and custom CSS behind, so the design stays on Squarespace. Go Bloom's terms also say buying a template doesn't transfer its intellectual property to you.
- What you get
- A pre-built site with pages laid out for a practice, delivered to your Squarespace account. Squarespace's help center says third-party designers can't sell templates for its sites. What the shops deliver is the finished site.
- What you give up
- At Glo and Go Bloom, a license covers one website, and template sales are final. Go Bloom's terms say the template arrives as a separate site, so existing content moves by hand.
Does Your Practice-Management System Include a Template?
If you already pay for a practice-management system, check whether its plan includes a website.
7. The SimplePractice Website
SimplePractice includes a website builder, with templates, inside the account you use for scheduling.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- Plans are $49, $79, or $99 a month, billed monthly, and the website costs nothing extra, per SimplePractice.
- Best for
- A clinician already on SimplePractice who wants the website and appointment requests in one account.
- If you leave
- The pages live in your SimplePractice account, so ask how to keep them before you cancel. Plans bill monthly.
- What you get
- A drag-and-drop editor, and appointment requests that flow into your account. You can publish on a SimplePractice address or your own domain.
- What you give up
- Its website page lists no blog. Its domain guide limits custom domains to the Essential and Plus plans.
Which Services Set Up a Template Site for a Monthly Fee?
These two build the site from their own designs and host it for a monthly fee. Read each one's leaving terms before you sign.
8. Brighter Vision
Brighter Vision builds therapist websites on its own platform. Its design team sets up the site from a homepage generator and 10 or more prewritten specialty pages.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- Start is $99 a month billed monthly, or $78 a month billed annually, plus a $100 setup fee. These are list prices, before a Halloween sale shown when we checked.
- Best for
- A solo practice that wants a site set up for it, with prewritten pages, and can commit to a first term.
- If you leave
- Its pricing FAQ says you own your domain and pay no release fee. Its terms say your content is yours, and let it delete account data once the agreement ends, so copy your pages first.
- What you get
- A site set up for you, which you can edit yourself, with unlimited tech support, per its websites page.
- What you give up
- Its terms keep the platform Brighter Vision's. Unless your order says otherwise, the first term is one year and renews automatically, and monthly plans carry no refunds.
9. TherapySites
TherapySites offers nine therapy website designs. After you pick one, an onboarding specialist tailors it and builds the site. It is part of Internet Brands.
- Price (as of October 2026)
- A $199 one-time design fee, then Core at $69 a month. Higher plans add marketing services, up to $336 a month.
- Best for
- A practice that wants a ready design built for it, month to month, with marketing add-ons on the same bill.
- If you leave
- You pay month by month, unless a promotion needs several months. You keep a domain you bring and the content you add, and it can transfer a domain it bought to you for a fee.
- What you get
- Core includes hosting, online appointment scheduling, and unlimited live support, per its pricing page. You can edit pages in its portal.
- What you give up
- Content TherapySites provides stays its own, and so does a domain it buys for you, per its FAQ.
Therapist Website Templates at a Glance
How to Choose a Template for Your Practice
Start with who will write and update the site. Then find your situation below.
Two habits help with any template:
- Register the domain in the practice's name, in an account you control.
- Keep your words and photos in your own files, so a move or a rebuild starts from them.
Our Squarespace, Wix, and custom comparison and Showit comparison cover those platforms in more depth.
When Is a Template Enough?
A template gives you a layout. The words, the facts, and the path to contact are yours to supply on any of them. A template is usually enough when:
- You work alone, or with a colleague or two who share one way to book.
- You can say who you help, what it costs, and how to start, in your own words.
- Four or five pages cover it: home, about, services and fees, and contact.
- You will update fees, openings, and bios when they change.
A new template rarely helps when the trouble sits in the words or the structure. Signs of that:
- People contact you to ask what the site should already answer, such as fees or openings.
- A group practice needs clinician profiles and a way to reach the right clinician.
- Each service or specialty needs its own page, written for the people it serves.
- Updates keep slipping, so fees, openings, and bios go stale.
In those cases, a new template changes the look while the same words carry over. Our website design for therapists page explains how we approach the words, the structure, and the build.
Questions About Therapist Website Templates
Are There Free Therapist Website Templates?
Yes. Squarespace's and Wix's own therapist templates cost nothing beyond the plan, and Wix has a free plan with Wix ads. WordPress.org's theme directory is a library of free themes, though hosting costs extra. Every free template still needs your own words, photos, and facts.
Which Website Template Is Best for Therapists?
It depends on who will run the site and where it should live. If you will write and update it yourself, start with your platform's own templates. If you want a finished design, compare designer templates on license and refund terms. If you want it set up for you, compare Brighter Vision's and TherapySites' leaving terms.
Can You Change Your Template Later?
On Squarespace version 7.1 and on Wix, an existing site can't switch to another template. You restyle the site, or start a new one and move your content across. On WordPress, you can install a different theme, and the main content of your posts and pages stays.
Do You Own a Website Built From a Template?
Usually you own the words and photos you add, while the design stays under the seller's terms. Go Bloom's terms say a purchase doesn't transfer the template's intellectual property, and Showit listings license one account. Brighter Vision keeps its platform, and TherapySites keeps the content it provides.
What This List Doesn't Tell You
We read the sellers' and platforms' own pages on October 29, 2026, for all nine options. We did not buy a template or build a test site.
Prices are list prices in US dollars, before tax and promotions. Squarespace and Wix say prices vary by location, so their figures come from Squarespace's FAQ and Wix's pricing guide. Canva's pages blocked our check, so the Canva entry relies on two template sellers' pages.
Template shops can change prices at any time, so check each listing before you pay. This comparison covers templates, prices, and portability. It does not assess any platform's suitability for storing clinical information.
If something here is out of date, email charles@crediblebydesign.com and we will check it.
